In his address, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN, said that peace and stability are prerequisites for finding solutions to global challenges. He called on UN member states to comply with international law and the UN Charter, refrain from using force, and resolve disputes by peaceful means.

Giang said the Summit of the Future 2024 would be an opportunity to strengthen international cooperation, promote innovation, and implement the international community's common commitment for peace, prosperity, and sustainable development for future generations. Vietnam will actively contribute to this process with an approach of centering on the people, said Giang.

The Ambassador praised the UN Secretary General Guterres’s leading role in promoting international support to strengthen the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and climate finance, including the adoption of the SDG Stimulus Package and the Just Energy Transition Partnership.

He said Vietnam will work closely with other countries to realize the UN Chief’s initiatives for the common goals.
