The conference, co-chaired by Vietnam, Indonesia and Senegal, was part of the Global Health Security Agenda. Vietnam’s Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said Vietnam has established a One Health Partnership team against zoonotic diseases and has developed a national plan on implementing International Health Regulations until 2023.

“The conference confirms Vietnam’s commitment  to the Zoonotic Diseases Action Package and its willingness to cooperate more closely with the global community in combating these diseases. We hope that the event will produce some specific goals for the Global Health Security Agenda meetings in Uganda in October,” Long said.
