Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong made the statement while evaluating the outcomes of the World Economic Forum. He said Vietnam has closely worked with WEF in various fields including the New Vision for Agriculture Initiative. Vietnam joined the initiative in 2010 by engaging the state, businesses, and farmers and implementing the public-private partnership (PPP) model.

The PPP activities in agriculture have been implemented under the form of the “Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture in Vietnam” (PSAV) hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The PSAV has set targets to improve the standards for a sustainable agricultural development, support policies and efficient farming methods in Vietnam, and strengthen the partnership between the ministry and partners.

In the future, the ministry will increase PSAV activities via establishing an information system and promote links among the ministry, domestic agricultural enterprises and those abroad, and associations in the sector. More PPP consultation groups for agricultural products will be set up.
