(VNA/VOVworld) - Vietnam has actively participated in activities of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) to run for a non-permanent seat in the council for the 2014-2016 tenure. Ambassador Nguyen Trung Thanh, Head of Vietnam’s permanent representative mission to the UN made the statement at the 21st session of the UNHRC which closed last weekend in Geneva, Switzerland. Thanh said Vietnam is committed to contributing to regional and international organizations. Vietnam aims to expand cooperation with all countries and economies in boosting the common cause for the sake of peace, security, prosperity and human development. At the dialogue with a special rapporteur on the Cambodia situation, Thanh highlighted the friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Cambodia as well as Cambodia’s achievements in ensuring political stability and boosting economic development to build a Cambodia of peace, stability and development.
