(VOVworld) – The Vice Chairman of the American International Group (AIG) Peter Hancock is on a visit to Vietnam. During talks in Hanoi on Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh praised AIG’s efforts to overcome the global financial crisis and equitize its affiliate companies.

He said these are valuable experiences for Vietnam in restructuring the economy and reforming public investment. Deputy Prime Minister Ninh said that although Vietnam’s insurance market is small, its development potential is huge. He asked AIG to share its experience in investing in Vietnam’s insurance market, particularly in agricultural insurance. He added that AIG can invest or call on other financial and investment groups to invest in infrastructure development in Vietnam. For his part, Peter Hancock said his group will increase investment in Vietnam’s insurance market and Vietnam’s economy in the years to come.
