Hosted by Malaysia in its capacity as ASEAN Chair for 2025, the Summit is taking place under the theme “Inclusivity and Sustainability.”

Key priorities include strengthening ASEAN’s role in promoting strategic trust through dialogue, diplomacy, and goodwill; expanding meaningful and effective cooperation with external partners; and fostering inclusive and sustainable growth by boosting intra-regional trade and investment.

Other key topics encompass enhancing economic cooperation and integration with partners; improving connectivity among markets and supply chains; promoting green finance and investment; building digital self-reliance; developing the community by narrowing development gaps and reducing inequality; improving people’s quality of life; and mitigating the impacts of climate change.

These meetings are important occasions for leaders to exchange views, evaluate, and reach consensus on strategic directions to deepen cooperation, sustain progress in building the ASEAN Community, strengthen capabilities for response, adaptation, and coordinated action, and contribute to peace, stability, collaboration, and prosperity.
