Receiving visiting Group Chairman José Viñals of the UK-based Standard Chartered PLC on Thursday in Hanoi, Deputy PM Khai said Standard Chartered's assistance has helped Vietnam improve its communications and ratings in a challenging international environment and said he believes this beneficial relationship will continue.
He urged Standard Chartered to continue giving advice and assistance to Vietnam in carrying out its action plans and projects in green growth and sustainable development as international resources are necessary for Vietnam to deliver on its net zero commitments.
Vietnam will continue to support and create favorable conditions for the bank to operate effectively, successfully implement cooperative projects, and accompany Vietnam in its development process, the Deputy PM said.
Mr. Vinals reaffirmed his commitment to cooperating with the Vietnamese Government and relevant stakeholders to achieve the goal of prosperous development, and expressed his hope for opportunities to help Vietnam overcome challenges by attracting more foreign investors.
He also confirmed that Standard Chartered will support Vietnam in improving its national credit rating, ensuring foreign investors’ confidence, and promoting sustainable and green economic development.
