Vietnam pledges further contribution to work of G77 and China

(VOVWORLD) - The Group of 77 and China is one of the most important groups at the United Nations, because it has the largest number of members and also the solidarity in promoting economic and development priorities for developing nations, said a Vietnamese senior diplomat.

Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN, addressed the 60th founding anniversary of the G77, a coalition of developing countries and China.

Vietnam, Giang said, proposes continued promotion of the priorities and needs of the G77 and China at major processes of the United Nations, strengthened South-South cooperation to support each other in the development process, and enhanced working methods, while maintaining traditional values to improve the Group's operational efficiency.

The Ambassador noted that Vietnam is proud to be one of the founding members of the Group of 77 and China and will continue to make substantive contributions to the Group's common work, in the spirit of cooperation, friendship, and multilateralism.
