(VOVworld)-“Forever a lode star” is the title of President Truong Tan Sang’s article published in People’s Army Newspaper  today/ on Friday, marking the 68th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army, on December 22^nd .

The article highlights the two strategic tasks of the Vietnam People’s Army—national construction and  national defense. President Sang voiced  that the Party and Government will never betray the people as accused by some malefactors. President Sang called on people from all social strata to act for the benefit of the  nation and for political stability  to speed up the great national unity and national reconciliation process. In addition, the degradation of political ideology and lifestyle needs to be stopped along with corruption and negative tendencies. By doing so, our national strength including defense and security will be enhanced.

According to President Sang,  to achieved the goal of national construction and defense, there is an urgent need for courageous, enthusiastic and faithful people to join hands. The Vietnam People’s Army is not only the leading force of national defense but also of -economic development process. Sang said the officers and soldiers of the Vietnamese  People’s Army soldiers should be absolutely loyal to the State, the people and the Party in any circumstance.

In an increasingly complicated world, Sang said the nature and  momentum for the growth of Vietnam is not based on violence but requires the lucid and flexible leadership of the Party and the Government. Vietnam’s investment in military and defense is for the purpose of national defense only, and is not a threat to other countries. However, Vietnam will deploy all of its forces to fight invaders.
