The Ministry is set to execute a comprehensive training program to fill the demand for 5,000 semiconductor chip engineers needed by foreign investors, said Nguyen Phu Hung, Chief of the Department of Science and Technology for Economic-Technical Branches.

Mr. Hung said that Vietnam should create a clear policy framework to attract domestic and international businesses to invest in semiconductor-related labs within the country. This policy should promote investments in labs and innovation centers linked to educational institutions, he added.

"We are seeking technological expertise by fostering collaboration between Vietnamese scientists abroad and leading semiconductor chip technology countries to enable rapid acquisition of crucial know-how," Mr. Hung said.

From now until the end of the year, the Ministry of Science and Technology will take advantage of bilateral cooperation agreements and science and technology pacts with other countries, according to the press conference.
