During talks with Speaker of the New Zealand House of Representatives Adrian Rurawhe in Wellington, Mr. Hue  noted that both countries share strategic values and interests as close friends and partners, which bears significance amid complicated and uncertain developments in the region and the world.

He suggested that the two sides step up the implementation of the Visa Working Holiday program and sign another bilateral labor cooperation agreement.

Vietnamese airlines are ready to open direct flights to New Zealand’s major cities, Chairman Hue added.

The two sides agreed on the need to further strengthen economic-trade-investment, making it a driving force for development of bilateral ties.

Apart from traditional fields such as education, tourism, culture, and labor, bilateral cooperation should expand to new and promising areas including digital transformation, energy transition, and climate change, they said.
