The bilingual book, in Vietnamese and English, provides detailed information about Vietnam’s fishery sector and regulation of IUU fishing. It also reports on Vietnam’s efforts to remove the warning under the European Commission’s “yellow card”, its long-term action plan against IUU fishing, and recommendations made by stakeholders in the seafood value chain. The White Book devotes one chapter to the stance of VASEP and Vietnamese seafood businesses of no tolerance for seafood sourced from IUU fishing.

The book launch coincided with a celebration of the fishery sector’s attainment of its 2017 export target of 8 billion USD.
