President Cuong was speaking during online talks on Friday with Laos’ top leader Thongloun Sisoulith.

He thanked General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith for being the first foreign leader to send a congratulatory letter and organize online talks after the former was elected.

The Lao top leader affirmed his commitment to coordinate closely with President Cuong to implement the high-level agreements between the two countries and further enhance the special Laos-Vietnam relationship.

Both sides agreed to accelerate efforts to iron out difficulties in several key projects to ensure more sustainable and effective economic cooperation between the two countries. They also agreed to continue supporting each other at regional and global forums.
