More than 10,000 soldiers from the armed forces of 19 countries, along with hundreds of Russian military vehicles and equipment will join the event.

A delegation of 86 soldiers from the Vietnam People’s Army has over the past few days participated in training sessions, joint exercises, and preliminary rehearsals for the parade.

“It is vivid evidence of the close cooperation between our two countries in military and defense affairs. It also reflects the shared views and mutual understanding between Russia and Vietnam on major historical milestones, contributing to strengthening their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership,” Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Stepanovich Bezdetko said in an interview with the Voice of Vietnam ahead of Party General Secretary To Lam’s official visit to Russia and about the significance of Vietnam’s first-ever participation in this historic parade.

The victory over fascism in 1945 fundamentally reshaped the world order, ushering in a new chapter in history and signaling the collapse of the global colonial system. This triumph was also made possible partly by the sacrifice and bravery of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers, who fought alongside the Soviet people to defend Moscow during the 1941–1945 years.
