During the working sessions, Thu Ba introduced the court system and the outcomes of judicial reform in Vietnam since the Politburo issued Resolution No 49 on judicial reform until 2020. The 2013 Constitution clearly specifies that the duty of judicial agencies is to protect human and civil rights. Vice President of the Italian Supreme Council of Magistrates Giovanni Legnini hailed judicial reform in Vietnam and the role of the Steering Committee for Judicial Reform in this process, as well as the humaneness of the Vietnam judicial system. The two sides shared their experience in amending criminal and civil codes and in human resource training for legal and judicial activities.
