Vietnam, Italy forge cooperation in crime combat

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam stands ready to serve as a bridge between Italy and ASEAN, help Italy participate in cooperation mechanisms in Asia-Pacific, and support Italy in multilateral forums, Minister of Public Security General To Lam said at separate talks with the Italian Interior Minister and the Justice Minister, as part of his 2-day visit to Italy starting on Monday.

Along with the agreement on collaboration in crime combat in 2014, two other agreements – on extradition and the transfer of sentenced persons – signed on this occasion are important to the bilateral cooperation in crime prevention and control, Mr. Lam said.

As part of his working visit to Italy, Minister To Lam met staff of the Vietnamese Embassy, whom he informed about Vietnam’s economic, political, and social situation and its outstanding success in ensuring security and order.
