(VOVworld) – Vietnam and the Republic of Guinea have signed a memorandum of understanding on rice export. Accordingly, Vietnam will export 300,000 tons of rice per year to Guinea, starting from next month until the end of 2015. Every year Guinea imports between 350 – 400,000 tons of rice. Rice is Vietnam’s major export commodity accounting for 60 – 80 percent of the country’s total export. The memorandum of understanding will be a legal foundation for setting up bilateral strategic partnership on food supply between Vietnam and Guinea, and creating an impetus to foster rice export to other African countries.
