Vietnam is an active, responsible member of AIPA, says top legislator

(VOVWORLD) -National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said Vietnam is an active and responsible member of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) and values the Assembly’s role in promoting peace, stability and sustainable development in the region.

During a reception for AIPA Secretary General Siti Rozaimeriyanty Dato Haji Abdul Rahman in Hanoi on Monday, Chairman Man said ASEAN will enter a new stage of development as it is implementing the Community Vision 2045 and cooperation strategies on politics-security, economics, socio-culture and connectivity.

The opportunities are huge, but so are the challenges, he said and stressed the need for ASEAN to stay united and cooperate more effectively, leveraging new growth drivers like science and technology, innovation, green transformation, and digital transformation.

The AIPA Secretary General applauded the Parliaments of countries, including Vietnam, for their effective coordination with AIPA and ASEAN initiatives, and praised the “AIPA Roadshow” held for the first time in Vietnam.
