National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue made the statement on Wednesday while talking to scholars, researchers, and former Iranian Ambassadors to Vietnam at the Institute for Political and International Studies, as part of his ongoing official visit to Iran.

He quoted General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong as saying Vietnam is determed to build a strong country with prosperous people and a fair, democratic, civilized society.

“The Vietnamese law-governed state is of the people, by the people, for the people, expanding friendship and cooperation with countries around the world. All decisions of the Party, National Assembly, and Government must put people and businesses at the center. The right policies supported by people and businesses have empowered Vietnam to overcome any challenge and keep developing rapidly and sustainably,” Mr. Hue said.

He proposed that Vietnam and Iran work together to strengthen their connection through dialogue, cooperation, and political trust mechanisms, and effectively promote the cooperation mechanisms of Parliament, the Intergovernmental Committee, and political consultation.

The two countries are encouraged to set up connections in trade and investment, culture, education, and tourism, he said, adding, “It’s essential for the two countries to connect more in the digital field, science, technology, and transportation, which is both a direction and a solution for multifaceted cooperation in the future.

“The Fourth Industrial Revolution, with its explosion of science and technology, has opened development opportunities for many countries, including Vietnam and Iran,” said Mr, Hue.

While visiting Iran’s House of Innovation and Technology (IHIT) in Tehran, Mr. Hue pledged that the NA and Government of Vietnam will help businesses from Iran operate effectively in Vietnam.

On Wednesday Chairman Hue also attended Vietnam Culture Week in Iran and cut the ribbon to launch a photo exhibition celebrating relations between the two countries.
