Addressing the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK Tran Ngoc An said the idea of the association’s establishment has been ignited for a long time as there’re many Vietnamese intellectuals living and working in the UK. The Embassy wanted to create a forum for those people to connect and support each other, then through practical activities, they can better contribute to the development of Vietnam’s science, technology, and socio-economy, he said.

The conference elected  the Association’s leadership board of nine members for one year term.
