(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam Initiative for Energy Transition has made its debut. The independent think tank’s mission is to promote a sustainable and reliable way of development to Vietnam’s national energy system, throughout the efficient use of energy and the development of renewable energy sources.

The organization’s managing director, Ngo To Nhien, told the launching ceremony in Hanoi on Thursday: “People may think about new liquefied natural gas power plants in the future as a way to ensure power grid’s flexibility. But there are a series of questions to address, including the system’s output and reliability, upgrading requirements and funding resources as well as tariffs. Researchers in our group will look at those questions which are of interest to policy makers.”
