Vietnam plans to develop a stable and sustainable cassava industry by building links between production, processing, and distribution to boost profits, generate jobs, reduce poverty, improve the lives of people in rural areas, and boost export turnover.

The project expects Vietnam’s fresh cassava output to reach 11.5-12.5 million tons by 2030, 85% of which will be processed.

By 2050, export revenue is expected to rise to 2.3-2.5 billion USD and 70-80% of the total cultivation area will use sustainable practices.

Vietnam will have five key cassava growing regions, and enterprises will be encouraged to build or upgrade cassava processing plants and apply technology to processing to improve product quality, profitability, and environmental protection.
