(VOVworld) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China to encourage the import of agro-forestry-fishery products from Vietnam, particularly rice, for a more balanced trade between the two countries.

At a reception in Hanoi on Wednesday for Peng Qinghua, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Mr. Phuc called for stronger coordination between the two countries in border management and in executing their agreements to cooperate in protecting and exploiting tourism resources at Ban Gioc water fall and free navigation at the mouth of the Bac Luan river.
He said the two countries should accelerate the opening and upgrading of pairs of border gates as agreed in order to boost trade and tourism exchanges in border areas as part of their efforts to build a border of peace, stability, cooperation and development.

Mr. Phuc also received Secretary of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee Chen Min’er. He said the Vietnamese government always encourages its ministries and provinces to cooperate with Chinese localities like Guizhou province. Prime Minister Phuc said the cooperation between Guizhou province and Vietnamese localities in economics, trade, and investment, has not been on par with the two sides’ potentials. He asked Guizhou province to boost imports from Vietnam, especially agro-forestry-fishery products, encourage its enterprises to invest in Vietnam, and facilitate business activities of Vietnamese companies there. Chen Min’er said that education cooperation with Vietnam is Guizhou’s top priority, adding that the province will continue to offer scholarships and create favourable conditions for Vietnamese students to study in the province.
