Vietnam, Egypt pledge stronger ties

(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang held talks with Egyptian Prime Minister  Mostafa Madbouly in Cairo on Thursday during his official visit to Egypt.

During the talks, the two leaders reiterated their determination to create breakthroughs for bilateral cooperation in all fields. They agreed to strengthen traditional friendship and bilateral cooperation through increasing delegation exchanges. On the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Quang conveyed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s invitation to Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly to visit Vietnam and urged the two sides to work closely at international forums.

The two leaders agreed to organize trade promotion activities in their respective countries in the coming time, create conditions for the exchanges of goods, particularly agricultural products, garments, textiles and fertilizer.

Vietnam proposes negotiations of the Vietnam-Egypt Free Trade Agreement in the coming time and cooperation with Egypt in the production of Halal food.

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said he is ready to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses to invest in Egypt.

The two sides agreed to soon organize the 6th meeting of the Vietnam-Egypt Joint Committee and promote the fine-tuning of legal frameworks to enhance multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

After the talks, the two leaders witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the State Bank of Vietnam and the Central Bank of Egypt.
