Minister Lam met with Senate President Abdel Wahab Abdel Razeq, who is also head of the ruling Nation’s Future Party (NFP); held talks with General Secretary of the Egyptian Communist Party Salah Adly and General Secretary of the Socialist Party of Egypt Ahmed Bahaa El-Din Shaaban; and had a working session with Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfiq Kandil.

The two sides agreed to expand cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam and Egypt’s political parties, and between socio-political organizations in the two countries, while coordinating closely at international multilateral forums.

They stressed the need to facilitate market access for their countries’ major products and seek business cooperation opportunities by diversifying product lines and balancing their interests.

They will also enhance consultation and cooperation to deal with traditional and non-traditional security challenges, such as terrorism, transnational crime, and climate change. They vowed to simplify visa procedures for each other’s citizens, and facilitate trade, investment, study, and travel.

During his trip to Egypt, Minister Lam called at the Vietnamese Embassy in Cairo and met with representatives of the Vietnamese expatriate community.
