A ceremony is held on March 23, 2021, to see off the level-2 field hospital medics who will join the UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan. |
The group of 70 personnel will replace their colleagues who accomplished their mission in the African country.
“During 14 months in Bentiu, I encountered numerous problems such as epidemics and harsh weather. I hope to share my experience with my colleagues to fulfill our duty,” said Doctor Bui Thi Xoa, one of the 18 medics to be re-deployed this time.
The medics have been vaccinated against COVID-19 and trained in how to deal with the pandemic.
“This is my first time joining a UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan. It will be an excellent opportunity for a young medic like me to improve myself,” said Doctor Hoang Xuan Truong.
