Vietnam considers Japan a top important, long-term partner: NA Chairman

(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized Vietnam's foreign policy of considering Japan one of its most important and long-term partners as well as wishing to work with Japan to substantially and effectively implement the newly upgraded Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework.

Receiving Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki on Wednesday in Hanoi, the National Assembly Chairman said that Vietnam and Japan still have a lot of potential for further cooperation, especially in areas where Japan has strengths such as digital transformation, green transformation, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, healthcare, culture, education, high-tech agriculture, national defense and security.

Chairman Man said he believes that in his new term, the Ambassador will promote the relationship between the two countries and the two legislative bodies, continue boosting cooperation and implementing agreements between localities of the two countries.

Ito Naoki said Japan wishes to continue promoting cooperation and exchanges between the National Assembly/Parliament of the two countries, increasing the exchange of high-level delegations and exchanges between parliamentarians, especially young parliamentarians, female parliamentarians, and friendship parliamentary groups.

The Ambassador added that Japan will make greater efforts to create a better environment for Vietnamese people living and working in Japan as well as adopt policies to attract young workers to work in Japan.
