He made the statement during a meeting with Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping on Friday on the sidelines of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in the Republic of Korea.
President Cuong proposed that both sides effectively implement upcoming high-level visits, enhance theoretical exchanges between the two Parties, and expand mutually beneficial cooperation across various fields.
The two leaders agreed to further strengthen exchanges and contacts at all levels, consolidate political trust, enhance substantive cooperation, and promote people-to-people exchanges, thereby fostering the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of Vietnam-China relations.
General Secretary and President Xi emphasized that China attaches great importance to its relationship with Vietnam and called for the two sides to deepen Party-to-Party ties and promote the theory conference mechanism.
The two leaders also exchanged views on issues of mutual concern, agreeing to properly manage and address differences to jointly maintain peace, stability, and development in the region.
