Pham Thu Hang responded to reporters’ questions regarding Vietnamese crew members aboard the vessel True Confidence, which was attacked at sea, by saying that Vietnam asks all parties to immediately stop using force and guarantee the security, safety, and freedom of international maritime routes in accordance with international law.

Ms. Hang said the Foreign Ministry is asking Vietnamese representative agencies in Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Egypt, and Djibouti to request information on the situation of Vietnamese citizens aboard the attacked ship.

According to preliminary information, there were four Vietnamese crew members aboard, one of whom has died. The other three are reported to be in good health.

Vietnamese representative offices will maintain close contact with local authorities, undertake any necessary citizen protection measures, and handle relevant procedures for the deceased, protecting all Vietnamese citizens' legitimate rights and interests, Ms. Hang said.
