Dr. Le Viet Anh, Director of the Department of Science, Education, Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Planning and Investment, told a consultation workshop in Hanoi on Friday that this time Vietnam’s VNR continues to provide an overview of the progress in implementing all 17 sustainable development goals.
“Vietnam wishes to share achievements and progress made in the implementation of the sustainable development goals, and at the same time share difficulties, challenges, and lessons learned as well as put forth orientations of key activities in the remaining half of the journey."
"We hope that this Vietnam Report 2023 continues to provide international friends with a comprehensive, yet detailed overview of the progress in implementing all 17 sustainable development goals in Vietnam, opening up opportunities for cooperation, exchange and experience sharing in the coming time,” Anh said.
The 2030 Agenda was adopted by United Nations member states in September 2015 with a focus on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Voluntary National Reviews on the implementation of the SDGs are seen as a mechanism to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs on a global scale.
The consultation workshop on the Draft National Voluntary Review on the implementation of Vietnam's SDGs in 2023 was jointly held by the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the German Organization for International Cooperation GIZ.
