Vietnam celebrates traditional lunar New Year in safe, secure manner

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosted a government meeting on Thursday to review the organization of the traditional lunar New Year (Tet), set out upcoming tasks, and strengthen COVID-19 prevention and control.

The Prime Minister said Vietnam celebrated Tet in a safe and secure manner with social security being ensured to bring a happy Tet to everyone. He praised the results of the spring vaccination campaign 2022.

Regarding upcoming tasks, the Prime Minister asked Ministries and sectors to strengthen efforts to contain the pandemic while accelerating the COVID-19 vaccination campaign.

He urged for the reopening of schools nationwide as from February 7th and ensuring safe, effective return to school.

He asked localities and sectors to safely reopen tourism as soon as possible, by April 30th or as from March 30, when the inoculation of booster jabs is basically completed and prompt immigration regulations are implemented.

To mark the 92nd founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Prime Minister said Vietnam is determined to seriously, effectively implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
