 Vietnam cannot stand outside the AI Game |
Tran Anh Tu, Deputy Director of the High Technology Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology, said: "The Vietnamese Party and State's policies on AI development have recognized Vietnam's potential for this regard. Government Resolution 50 on implementing Resolution 52 of the Politburo on proactively participating in the 4.0 industrial revolution, emphasizes the importance of AI."
Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Nguyen Hoang Giang said; "Vietnam cannot stay outside the game, but must ensure two factors. Vietnam must build an open legal corridor to meet practical requirements for research and application and promote socio-economic development. Vietnam also needs to learn experiences from developed countries, move ahead in a responsible direction, be consistent with Vietnamese culture. In particular, the development of digital technology must go hand in hand with responsibility and ethics."
A report on the Government AI Readiness Index from Oxford Insights revealed that Vietnam has increased its average score, reaching 54.48 points in 2023 compared to 53.96 in 2022. The country also surpassed the Philippines to rise to 5th position out of the 10 ASEAN countries, climbing one spot since the previous year.
