Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and his Cambodian counterpart Hor Nam Hong co-chaired the meeting. The two sides discussed ways to strengthen economic, trade, investment, and tourist cooperation. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh said:“This is the annual meeting of the Steering Committee for Vietnam-Cambodia bilateral ties. At this meeting, we will discuss specific ways to enhance our cooperation in various fields including politics, economics, culture, science, technology, and cooperation at multi-lateral forums”.

On the same day, the first Vietnam – Cambodia Dialogue on National Defensee Policies opened in Cambodia. Deputy Defense Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh is leading a Vietnamese delegation at the event. At the deputy ministerial-level event, the first of its kind, both sides discussed international and regional issues and their impact on Vietnamese – Cambodian relations. They also discussed measures to foster it moving forward with a focus on information sharing, training cooperation, delegate exchanges at all levels, and border security management and protection.
