Mr. Minh told the 27th International Conference on the Future of Asia (FOA 2022) in Tokyo on Thursday that it is necessary to settle disputes and disagreements in the East Sea by peaceful measures in line with laws, particularly the UN Charter and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
He said Asia needs to promote multilateralism and a spirit of cooperation and connection in the direction of openness, inclusiveness, fairness, and sustainability, and it’s time for all countries to put aside their disputes and disagreements to unite and support each other.
As a leading region in digital technology and digital transformation, Mr. Minh said, Asia needs to create and promote new development incentives.
The Deputy PM said Vietnam’s development orientation is to develop rapidly and sustainably based on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation;to build a green economy and a circular economy, with people as the center, the subject, the target, and the motive for development; to push for social advancement and equality; and to build a healthy and civilized society.
