Vietnam will send a dossier to the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), establish a campaign board headed by the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and prepare publications to promote Hanoi and Vietnam’s land and people.

There will be 15 competition venues with Hanoi being the main one. According to the OCA, the 18th ASIAD is scheduled to open in November, 2019, bringing together 10,000 coaches and athletes from 45 Asian countries and territories to compete in 35 sports.

On the sideline of the World Sports Ministers Meeting in mid-April, OCA President Sheikh Ahad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah said the council encourages Vietnam to campaign to host ASIAD 2019 and is always ready to support Vietnam. The OCA will convene in Macau in early November to declare the host of ASIAD 2019.
