With high-quality travel experiences at a fraction of the cost of other major destinations, the Southeast Asian country offers exceptional value, according to the report, which described Vietnam as a vibrant, dynamic nation rich in cultural identity.
In the first quarter of this year, the number of Australian visitors to Vietnam increased by 54% compared to the same period in 2019, far surpassing many other traditional destinations, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
Nicole Newport, regional sales manager for Oceania at InsideAsia Tours said that there is “clear evidence that Vietnam is quickly becoming a top-choice destination”, and this trend is expected to continue.
She explained that the destination’s close proximity to Australia and rich variety of experiences – from historic cities and busy market streets to towering natural landscapes – the sheer variety of scenery means a visit to Vietnam can feel like several countries in one.
