Vietnam attracts 25.4 billion USD of FDI in nine months

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam attracted 25.4 billion USD in foreign direct in the first nine months of 2018, according to the Foreign Investment Agency.

Foreign investors invested in 18 areas, mostly in the processing and manufacturing sector, which received investment capital of more than 11 billion USD.  Real estate was the second most attractive sector, followed by the wholesale and retail sector. 104 countries and territories invested in Vietnam in the nine-month period, with Japan taking the lead with 7 billion USD. South Korea came second, followed by Singapore.

Of the 59 cities and provinces that received foreign investment, Hanoi attracted the largest portion of registered capital with nearly 6 billion USD, followed by Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
