600 delegates from Russia and 15 other countries with a significant Buddhist population, including Mongolia, China, Republic of Korea, Japan, Nepal, India, and Vietnam, discussed the development of Buddhism, its culture, philosophy, and practices.
The Forum, themed "Traditional Buddhism and the Challenges of the Modern Age", aimed to foster cooperation in Buddhist education and facilitate the exchange of Buddhist knowledge and practices among religious, scientific, educational, and medical organizations.
The Forum was organized by the Buddhist Traditional Sangha of Russia, the Foundation for the Support of Buddhist Education and Research, and the Government of the Republic of Buryatia led by Alexey Tsydenov.
