Vietnamese Ambassador to Turkey Nguyen The Cuong told VOV reporters that 113 Vietnamese workers were divided into two groups and taken to Turkey by a local company. The working group is now finding ways to take the remaining 93 workers home as soon as possible. Ambassador Cuong said:“The Vietnamese Embassy in Turkey has prepared basic medical assistance for the workers, and we are ready to send them to hospitals in case of emergency. The Embassy has sent a diplomatic note to the International Organization of Migration (IOM) agencies in Ankara and Istanbul about this matter and we’ll directly work with the IOM agency in Istanbul to search for further information regarding other Vietnamese workers if any”.

Vietnam’s Embassy in Libya drafted a plan to ensure safety for the Embassy’s staff and the Vietnamese community there. The Embassy stays in touch with representatives of the Vietnamese workers in Libya to keep them updated of the situation, provide them with information on preventive measures while closely cooperating with their employers to evacuate them to safe places or take them home. The Embassy has also worked with companies to complete procedures for evacuating the workers. Approximately 800 Vietnamese workers working for a Korean company in Libya will be transported to Vietnam through Cairo, Egypt, on Saturday.
