Answering the reporters’ questions about Vietnam’s response to this, Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Hai Binh said Vietnam has enough legal and historical evidence to assert Vietnam’s indisputable sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos. Any activities of a foreign country in this area are considered to be illegal. Taiwan’s sending reporters to Ba Binh island seriously violates Vietnam’s sovereignty over these archipelagos and complicates the situation in the East Sea. Vietnam opposes and asks Taiwan to respect Vietnam’s sovereignty, not repeat such action and contribute to maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea.
