During their meeting on Thursday both sides agreed to promote high-level visits and prioritize cooperation in all areas while supporting the ASEAN efforts to build up unity, connectivity and tackle non-traditional security threats such as disease control, climate change response and human trafficking.
They discussed the East Sea situation and emphasized the need to maintain peace and stability while securing maritime and aerial security, safety and freedom in line with international law. They urged parties concerned to settle conflict by peaceful means and non use force or threat to use force. They agreed to hold the next round of strategic dialogue in Vietnam next year.
