The number of Koreans travelling abroad increased dramatically in the first nine months of 2023, with more than 16 million going by air, up 382% from the previous year.

The top five destinations, based on the number of airline passengers in the January-September period, were Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, and the US.

The number of Korean tourists visiting Vietnam in the period was 389% above the same period in 2022. The central coast city of Da Nang was the most attractive destination for Korean visitors.
