The people of Vietnam, for their part, have reserved their warm sentiments to and supported Cuba, particularly during its difficult time, he noted. 

President Phuc said he believes that the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), the Cuba-Vietnam Friendship Society, schools, and young Cubans will work harder to deepen the brotherhood and special traditional friendship between the two countries. 

Noemi Rabaza Fernandez, ICAP Vice Chairwoman, reaffirmed that the Cuban people will forever support Vietnam in any circumstances. 

Maria Yolanda Ferrer Gomez, Chairwoman of the Cuba-Vietnam Friendship Society, said her organization is proud of their responsibility to nurture the special relationship between Cuba and Vietnam. 

Meeting with staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Cuba the same day, President Phuc reiterated the Party’s and State’s support for overseas Vietnamese. He urged the Embassy to promote Cuba’s agricultural projects with Vietnam. 

During his 3-day visit, President Phuc is scheduled to hold talks with First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (CPC) Central Committee and President of Cuba Miguel Díaz Canel, and meet with Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, and President of the National Assembly of the People’s Power and President of the Council of State Esteban Lazo Hernández.
