(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said that Vietnam was always by Laos’ side during talks with Lao Party General Secretary and President Choummaly Sayason on Tuesday on the sidelines of the 8th summit of the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Development Triangle.
The two leaders agreed to instruct the relevant agencies to continue implementing agreements reached between the two countries’ senior officials and the results of the 36th session of the Vietnam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee. They also agreed on preparations for the 37th session early next year. Vietnam and Laos will accelerate the implementation of ODA projects, strengthen cooperation in culture, education, training, science, and technology, and expand cooperation between their localities. They also pledged to create favorable conditions for their businesses to boost economic and investment cooperation.
Prime Minister Dung met with the Vietnamese Community and Vietnamese embassy staff in Laos, received representatives from the Vietnamese Investors’ Association in Laos and visited the Long Thanh-Vientiane Economic Zone.
Prime Minister Dung and the Vietnamese delegation left Vientiane for Vietnam later the same day.
