Vietnam aims to stimulate domestic demand, expand exports

(VOVWORLD) - Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh said Vietnam has great production potential with its exports to China and the US increasing 17.4% and 10.3% respectively despite a sharp fall in the global market due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At a meeting between the government and localities on Thursday, Minister Anh said: “It’s necessary to settle existing problems in key markets, particularly in the US and China. In the US, we need to focus on trade of goods and services while in China, we need to accelerate the market of agricultural products. The Ministry will help localities to increase cooperation with Chinese partners. We also need to deal with the problem of origin fraud. We have worked with the Ministry of Agriculture , the Association of SMEs to implement the EVFTA and organized online trade promotion activities."
