In response, Hai Phong city has prohibited all vessels from going to sea, and suspended all aquaculture, fishing, and other coastal or offshore activities. The Cat Hai-Phu Long cable car service has been halted. Naval Region 1 has rolled out a comprehensive storm mitigation plan. Naval units have been placed on high alert, with 100% of personnel on standby. According to Colonel Phan Tien Bao, Deputy Commander of Naval Region 1, close coordination is ongoing with local authorities to ensure a rapid and effective response.

“We’ve deployed ships to designated storm shelters and completed final checks to ensure readiness for storm Wipha. Our forces are on standby for search and rescue operations and to support civilians in distress. This is a vital peacetime mission.”
