(VOVworld) – VietJetAir and the Airbus manufacturer have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on VietJetAir’s purchase of 92 aircraft and the chartering of 8 more aircraft. The signing took place on Wednesday in the French Prime Minister’s palace witnessed by visiting Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and his French counterpart Marc Ayrault. The MOU comes under the framework of the practical and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and France that was announced during Prime Minister Dung’s visit to France and  the celebration of the 40th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties.

The new order enables VietJetAir to develop its new, modern fleet and serve the airline’s ambition to become a multinational group. Under the 9.1 billion USD deal, the first aircraft will be delivered by Airbus to VietJetAir next year.
