(VOVworld) - Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan awarded scholarships to 130 underprivileged children in the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang on Monday.

Madam Doan, who is also chairwoman of the Protection Council of the National Fund for Vietnamese Children, urged the provincial authorities to increase attention to child care and protection to give them better opportunities for development.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Children’s Fund for extraordinary cases in need of additional support launched by Vice President Doan presented 10 scholarships worth appropriately 119 USD each to local female students with particularly disadvantaged situations.
