Vice President presents scholarships to poor pupils

(VOVworld) – Nguyen Thi Doan, Vice President and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fund for Child Protection, presented 130 scholarships to disadvantaged pupils with excellent academic records in the northern province of Thai Binh on Monday.

Each scholarship is worth 150 USD. The Fund will sponsor 10 pupils over 5 years with an annual rate of 250 USD each. The recipients included pupils who won the highest marks at university entrance exams or passed two universities. This is the first large scale program carried out by the Vietnam Fund for Child Protection in Thai Binh province to encourage poor children to overcome hardships in life.
