(VOVworld) – President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Nguyen Thien Nhan has wished Catholic and Protestant dignitaries and followers a Merry Christmas 2016.

In his letter delivered on Wednesday, Mr. Nhan said in the past year, the Catholics and Protestants have played an important role in protecting the environment, ensuring social welfare, food safety, and safeguarding national sovereignty. The Catholics and Protestants through their practical deeds have contributed significantly to consolidating national unity. The VFF President congratulated the Vietnam Episcopal Council for organizing its 13^th Congress and the Protestant Churches for hosting major events which have helped to develop the nation.
